Elizabeth is an Architect and holds a Master in Architecture from Universidad Católica de Chile, and an MPhil and PhD in Architecture from the University of Cambridge. She has been a Lecturer at Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad Mayor (Chile), Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, Postdoctoral Researcher at CEDEUS and CIGIDEN and a guest Lecturer at the University College of London (UCL). Currently, she is an Associate Professor at Universidad Diego Portales, Chile.

​Her research has been focused on resilience and sustainable reconstruction after disasters in vulnerable territories. Her proposals seek to reinforce the idea that the emergency and reconstruction processes can be an opportunity to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of our cities in a sustainable and safe way.
